Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
^ Raise and Support the vehicle.
^ Remove the muffler and muffler inlet pipe.
^ Disconnect the air inlet tube from the catalytic.
^ Remove the exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts on vehicles without an exhaust inlet pipe.
^ Remove the exhaust inlet pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts on vehicles with an exhaust inlet pipe.
^ Remove the catalytic converter from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION
^ To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the exhaust manifold-to-catalytic converter nuts to 34-46 Nm (25-33 lb ft). Tighten the exhaust inlet pipe-to-catalytic converter nuts to 34-48 Nm (25-35 lb ft).
