D: Remote Memory Seats Inoperative


D: REMOTE MEMORY SEATS INOPERATIVE

If a third transmitter is programmed to the receiver, the remote memory seats will move the seat to a third lesser known position which is set/used by pressing the door memory seat switches 1 and 2 at the same time.

If a fourth transmitter is programmed to the receiver, it will not operate the memory seats.


D1 ATTEMPT NORMAL REMOTE MEMORY SEAT 1 OPERATION
- Check normal memory seat operation with manual switches on doors.
- Place seat in third memory location (use Memory 1 and 2 door switches).
- Press UNLOCK on Transmitter 1 Service and Repair
Does driver's seat move to position corresponding to pressing memory seat button 1 on driver's door when doors are unlocked with Transmitter 1 (molded in back of transmitter key fob)?
Yes.
GO to D2
No
GO to D3 . If no seat movement and driver's door did not unlock, REPROGRAM both transmitters to receiver assembly system Service and Repair and REPEAT this test step. If driver's door unlocks, but seats do not move, GO to D3

D2 ATTEMPT NORMAL REMOTE MEMORY SEAT 2 OPERATION
- Place seat in third memory location (use Memory 1 and 2 door switches).
- Press UNLOCK on Transmitter 2 as described in Description and Operation, Memory Seat, Remote .
Does driver's seat move to position corresponding to pressing memory seat button 2 on driver's door when doors are unlocked with Transmitter 2 (molded in back of transmitter key fob?
Yes
Remote memory seat functions appear OK. CLARIFY with owner and REVIEW customer symptoms table.
No
If the driver's door did not unlock, REPROGRAM both transmitters to receiver assembly system. If the driver's door did unlock, GO to D1 , or GO to D4.

D3 CONFIRM REMOTE MEMORY SEATS ARE ENABLED
- Perform enable/disable sequence for remote memory seats feature as described in Description and Operation, Enabling and Disabling features.
First time this sequence is performed does horn chirp twice followed by longer honk?
Yes
GO to D1 (you just enabled a feature which was previously disabled by the vehicle user).
No
If one horn chirp sounded but no longer horn honk, ENABLE remote memory seats feature again with same sequence but with longer honk this time (the remote memory seats feature was enabled originally and it was disabled). GO to D4 after enabling.
If can't make enable sequence respond, CONFIRM all doors, liftgate and liftgate window were closed and that theft system was disarmed for enable mode entry, or VERIFY door ajar, door lock/unlock switch and ignition inputs to receiver assembly with NGS Tester.

D4 CHECK RAP MEMORY SEAT 1 OUTPUT
- Enter in NGS: RAP, ACTIVE COMMANDS, SEAT MEMORY and turn MEMORY 1 ON, with MEMORY 2 remaining OFF.
Does driver's seat move to memory 1 position?
Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test B to confirm that Transmitter 1 is stored in receiver assembly as Transmitter 1 (TIC1).
No
GO to D5


D5 MEMORY SEAT 1 JUMPERED OPERATION
- Disconnect the receiver assembly.
- Momentarily short Memory 1 Circuit 267 (BR/LG) to Signal Ground (570 BK/W).
Did seat move to memory 1 position?
Yes
GO to D6
No
SERVICE Memory 1 Circuit 267 (B/LG) from receiver assembly to door memory switches for opens or shorts to ground.

D6 CHECK RAP MEMORY SEAT 2 OUTPUT
- Enter in NGS: RAP, ACTIVE COMMANDS, SEAT MEMORY and Turn MEMORY 2 ON, with MEMORY 1 remaining OFF.
Does driver's seat move to the memory 2 position?
Yes
GO to Pinpoint Test B to confirm that Transmitter 2 is stored in receiver assembly as Transmitter 2 (TIC2). GO to D7.
No
GO to D7

D7 MEMORY SEAT 2 JUMPERED OPERATION
- Disconnect the receiver assembly.
- Momentarily short Memory 2 Circuit 268 (BK/O) to Signal Ground (570 BK/W).
Did seat move to memory 2 position?
Yes
CALL phone number on receiver assembly for additional assistance.
No
SERVICE Memory Seat 2 Circuit 268 (BK/O) from receiver assembly to the door memory switches for opens or shorts to ground.
