Adapter

REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear disc brake caliper and the rear disc brake rotor.
2. From the inboard side of the rear wheel disc brake adapter (2C220), disconnect the parking brake rear cable and conduit (2A635) from the parking brake lever and the parking brake cable bracket.





3. Remove the axle shaft (4234). Use care not to damage the oil seal.

4. If the rear wheel disc brake adapter is to be replaced, remove the parking brake shoe and lining.
5. Remove the four axle housing-to-disc brake adapter nuts and bolts.
6. Remove the rear wheel disc brake adapter from the rear axle housing flange.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the axle housing-to-disc brake adapter nuts to 54 Nm (40 ft lb). Tighten the nuts alternately and evenly.
