Cruise Control Servo: Service and Repair
1. Remove speed control bracket to vehicle screw, then disconnect speed control 10-way connector.2. Depress accelerator pedal and shaft, then push locking arm on speed control actuator cap and rotate cap counterclockwise.
3. Remove cable ball slug from servo rotor, then the speed control actuator cable slug from servo pulley.
4. Gently push actuator cable slug past retaining spring using small screwdriver.
5. Remove bracket from servo. Keep bracket, screws, eyelets and insulators for installation.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque servo to bracket screws to 7-10 ft lb.
b. Ensure rubber seal is fully seated on actuator cable cap.
c. Depress accelerator pedal and shaft if accelerator cable is attached to throttle and lock cable ball in slot located in pulley.
Speed Control Servo Installation.:
d. Release accelerator cable or pull cable at throttle end, then insert cap locking tabs into speed control servo slots, and rotate cap clockwise until locking arm engages locking tab on servo.
