Center Mounted Brake Lamp: Service and Repair

Rear Hi-Mount Neon Stoplamp/Ballast:

Removal

1. Remove interior trim as required to access lamp attaching nuts.

2. CAUTION: Always disconnect low voltage wiring connector first when servicing neon lamp ballast.

Disconnect wiring, remove attaching screws and lamp ballast.

3. Remove rivets attaching neon lamp housing to liftgate header.

4. CAUTION: The ballast and neon lamp are serviced as separate assemblies. Do not attempt to disassemble the ballast or lamp.

Remove attaching nuts and neon lamp assembly.
