Malfunction Indicator Lamp: Description and Operation

OPERATION
The Malfunction Indicator Lamp will light with the ignition switch in the ON position prior to cranking, and goes out when the engine starts.

If a fault develops in the engine control system, the powertrain control module will turn ON the indicator.
