Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes

How to Service a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC)

NOTE: The New Generation Star (NGS) tester 007-00500 or equivalent must be used to retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

1. Install battery charger for testing (battery will drain down while running compressor).
2. Retrieve Diagnostic Trouble Codes DTC continuous codes using Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent.
3. Record and clear all DTCs. Run Self Test to verify fault.
4. To service DTC, perform the appropriate pinpoint test. Perform pinpoint test (DTC) in order of priority. Check priority level of DTC, servicing Level I DTC's first (Level II DTC's second and Level III DTC's third).
5. Run Self Test to verify repair.
6. Automatic Ride Control (ARC) module should be cleared of all codes before repair is complete. Clear codes using NGS Tester.
