TRANSMISSION - 4R44E/4R55E - DIAGNOSTIC

LIGHT TRUCK:
1995-96 EXPLORER, RANGER

ISSUE:
Air Pressure Test Plates for A4LD and 4R44E/4R55E transmissions are different and are not interchangeable. Using the wrong Air Pressure Test Plate will result in misdiagnosis.





ACTION:
To properly diagnose and air check the 4R44E/4R55E transmission, you must follow the procedure as outlined in the appropriate year Ranger/Explorer Service Manual. Use the revised Air Pressure Test Plate (T95L-77000-AH) and the Air Pressure Test Plate Gasket (T95L-7006-A) to perform the diagnosis. Refer to Figure 1 for test port locations.
