Lack of Deceleration During Medium/Hard Brake Applications

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Leaky dump valve.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to Pinpoint Test H, step H13. H13 Obtain DTC

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Stuck shut isolation valve.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to Pinpoint Test H, step H14 only. H14 Blocked Isolation Orifice

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Short/open in frame or instrument panel harness (Circuits 519 and/or 523).
- At antilock electronic control module connector (Pins 3 and 10).
- At RABS sensor connector.
- At bulkhead or other interconnection.
- Pinched wire or worn insulation due to improper routing.
- Test connector (in engine compartment).

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to Pinpoint Test K, steps K1-K5 only. K1 Check Yellow RABS Warning Lamp

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Metal chips on RABS sensor.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to Pinpoint Test K, step K6 only. K6 Check For Erratic RABS Sensor Signal

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Borderline high RABS sensor to sensor ring air gap, excessive sensor ring radial runout, damaged or missing RABS sensor ring teeth.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to Pinpoint Test K, steps K11 and K12 only. K11 Measure RABS Sensor Air Gap

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Hydraulic leak in brake line tubing or rear brake hose, fitting, brake master cylinder, rear wheel cylinder, or front disc brake caliper.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Repair leak. Bleed brake system Brake Bleeding

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Air in brake system.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Check brake system for leaks, Repair if necessary. Bleed brakes. Brake Bleeding

POSSIBLE SOURCE(S):
- Brake related concern:
- Little or no vacuum boost.
- Stuck or inoperative wheel cylinder or caliper.
- Pinched or crimped rear brake hose or brake line tubing.
- Ineffective brake shoe or pad linings.

ACTION TO TAKE:
- Refer to the hydraulic brake system testing and inspection.
