Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Installation

1. Install the rear disc brake rotor on the wheel hub.
2. Install the rear disc brake caliper and rear disc brake caliper anchor plate assembly. Tighten the two rear disc brake caliper anchor plate bolts to 45-67 N.m (33-49 lb-ft).

Staking Tool:

Staking The Rear Axle Hub Retainer:

CAUTION: If the rear axle wheel hub retainer splits or cracks after staking, it must be replaced with a new rear axle wheel hub retainer.

NOTE: The staking tool can be fabricated from an existing hardened chisel. The correct radius on the chisel tip will prevent improper staking. Do not attempt to stake with a sharp edged tool.

4. Stake the new rear axle wheel hub retainer using a cold chisel with the cutting edge rounded as shown.
5. Install the hub grease cap.
6. Install the wheel and tire assembly. Tighten the lug nuts to 88-118 N.m (65-87 lb-ft).
