Ignition Cable: Testing and Inspection

VISUAL INSPECTION
Wipe the spark plug wires with a clean, damp cloth prior to inspection. Before removing spark plug wires from the spark plugs, inspect for visible damage such as cuts, pinches, cracks or torn boots. Replace damaged spark plug wires as necessary.

CAUTION: Do not under any circumstances puncture a spark plug wire when measuring resistance.

Spark Plug Wire Resistance Test:

- Measure the resistance of each spark plug wire. Resistance should measure between 4,000-7,000 ohms per foot.

- If not as specified, replace the spark plug wire set.
