Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

NOTE: It is not necessary to remove steering wheel to remove ignition switch.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape.
2. Remove four lower steering column panel screws, then separate upper and lower steering column panels.
3. Remove lock cylinder illumination bulb from lower steering column panel.
4. Remove upper and lower steering column panels.
5. Disconnect ignition switch electrical.
6. Remove ignition switch retaining screw, then ignition switch assembly from vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
