Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape, or equivalent.
2. Remove air cleaner assembly.
3. Using a screwdriver, or equivalent, pry shift cable from transaxle shift lever.
4. Disconnect neutral position switch electrical connector.
5. Remove switch retaining bolts, then remove switch.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Align neutral mark on top of switch (center line) with flats of switch shaft.
b. Torque switch retaining bolts to 5.9-7.3 ft lb.
