With Manual Transaxle

WARNING: When servicing starter or performing any maintenance in area of starter, note heavy gauge input lead connected to starter solenoid is hot at all times.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape, or equivalent.
2. Remove fresh air duct and air cleaner assembly.
3. Disconnect wiring electrical connections from starter motor assembly.
4. Remove three starter motor retaining bolts, then starter motor assembly.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Torque starter motor retaining bolts to 24-33 ft lb.
b. Torque starter solenoid B-terminal nut to 12-16 ft lb.
