PURPOSEThe Camshaft Position
(CMP) sensor provides camshaft position information for determining the position and stroke of No. 1 cylinder, which is required for fuel injection sequencing.
OPERATIONThe
camshaft position sensor is activated from a high point on the oil pump sprocket at camshaft speed.
