Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair

A/C Cycling Switch

NOTE:
Do not vent the refrigerant charge.

Removal

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect the wire connector from the A/C cycling switch.

3. Unscrew the A/C cycling switch from the suction accumulator/drier.

Installation

1. Install a new 0-ring lubricated with clean refrigerant oil on the accumulator fitting.

2. Screw the A/C cycling switch on the accumulator fitting. Tighten the A/C cycling switch to 7-13 N.m (62-115 lb-in) if A/C cycling switch has metal base and hand-tighten only if A/C cycling switch has plastic base.

3. Connect the wire connector to the A/C cycling switch.

4. NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

Connect battery ground cable.

5. Check the system for proper operation.
