C: Speed Control Does Not Disengage When Brakes Applied
C1 Check Deactivator Switch Circuit
- Turn ignition switch to RUN.
- Disconnect 14290 harness connector from the speed control servo.
- With no brakes applied, place a 12 Volt Circuit Test Light between Pin 9 (Circuit 535 [LB/R]) and Pin 10 (GND, Circuit 57 [BK]).
- Is the light illuminated?
Yes

No
REPLACE deactivator switch.
C3 Check Stoplight Switch Circuit
- With brakes applied, measure voltage between Pin 4 (Circuit 810 [R/LG]) and Pin 10 (GND, Circuit 57 [BK]).
- Is there battery voltage?
Yes
GO to C4
No
SERVICE stoplight switch ,fuse 7 or open in Circuit 810 (R/LG) or Circuit 569 (DG). RECONNECT speed control servo.
C4 Check For Binds In Speed Control Actuator Cable And Throttle Linkage Attachment
- Remove speed control actuator cable from speed control servo.
- Check for broken or binding cable by pulling on cable ball slug to ensure throttle moves freely.
- Is cable OK?
Yes
REPLACE speed control servo.
No
SERVICE as required. RECONNECT speed control servo.
