Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

WARNING: DO NOT TOUCH RESISTOR DURING OR AFTER BLOWER MOTOR OPERATION.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable (14301).
2. Remove both rear passenger seats.
3. Remove the three auxiliary heater-air conditioner trim cover push pins.
4. Grasp lower edge of the trim panel, left outward and push upward to remove panel.
5. Disconnect blower motor control switch electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the wire connector from the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).





7. Remove two attaching screws and remove the heater blower motor switch resistor.

NOTE: When the battery (10655) has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal driving symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM)(12A650) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.

8. To install, reverse removal procedure.
