With External A/C System Leaks

1. If system is operational, set engine to run at fast idle and operate A/C in maximum cooling position, with blower on high, for 10 minutes.
2. Discharge system, then remove compressor and drain oil into a suitable container.
3. Measure amount of oil recovered from compressor and proceed as follows:
a. If less than 3 oz of oil are recovered from compressor, add 6 oz of new refrigeration oil to compressor.
b. If 3-6 oz of oil are recovered, add same amount of new refrigeration oil to compressor.
c. If more than 6 oz of oil are recovered, add only 6 oz of new refrigeration oil to compressor.
4. Install compressor, then evacuate and recharge system as necessary.
