Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM)

Constant Control Relay Module (CCRM)

The CCRM contains:
- Wide Open Throttle (WOT) [1][2]A/C Relay
- Fuel Pump Relay
- Cooling Fan Motor Relay(s)

Note: The powertrain control module relay is separate from the CCRM on the Windstar models.

The fan motor is controlled during vehicle operation by the constant control relay module (CCRM) and powertrain control module (PCM) which energizes the fan motor under the following conditions:

Note: Cooling fan motor will not cycle with the A/C clutch on.

- Engine temperature is higher than normal. The fan motor starts operating at 102 °C (210 °F).
- A/C is on and vehicle speeds at or below 69 km/h (43 mph) and stops running at 77 km/h (48 mph).

Several different CCRMs are available depending on the application.
Proper operation of the cooling fan system cannot be obtained unless the correct CCRM is used.
