LH Front Primary Crash Sensor and Bracket
WARNING: The electrical circuit necessary for system deployment is powered directly from the battery. To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the positive battery cable must be disconnected prior to servicing or replacing any system components.REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect positive battery cable. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove upper radiator wiring trough.
4. Disconnect wiring retainer from LH front air bag sensor and bracket.
5. Remove two retaining screws and remove LH front air bag sensor and bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Position LH front air bag sensor and bracket and wire lead in vehicle.
2. Secure LH front air bag sensor and bracket to upper radiator support with two primary crash sensor to center cowl retaining screws. Tighten to 10.2-13.8 Nm (8-10 lb ft).
3. Connect wire lead connector to LH front air bag sensor and bracket and connect wiring retainer to fan shroud.
4. Install upper radiator wiring trough.
5. Reconnect positive battery cable.
6. Reconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles (16 km) or more to relearn the strategy.
7. Prove out air bag system.
