Windows and Glass: Service Precautions



NOTE: Prior to disconnecting battery, record pre-set radio frequencies.

DISARMING
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect positive battery cable.
3. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete its stored energy.
4. Remove driver's air bag module from steering wheel.
5. Disconnect driver's air bag module connector and horn control wire connector. Connect Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00010, or equivalent, to vehicle harness at top of steering wheel.
6. Remove passenger's air bag, then install a second air bag simulator on vehicle harness.
7. Connect positive battery cable.

ARMING
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect positive battery cable.
3. Wait at least one minute for back-up power supply to deplete its stored energy.
4. Remove air bag simulator from sliding contact connector.
5. Install driver side air bag module.
6. Remove air bag simulator from passenger side air bag harness, then install passenger side air bag module.
7. Connect positive battery cable.
8. Connect battery ground cable.
9. Prove out system as follows:
a. Cycle ignition switch from OFF to RUN and visually monitor air bag indicator.
b. Air bag indicator should light continuously for approximately six seconds, then go out.

NOTE: After the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, abnormal drive conditions may be present while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 or more miles to relearn the strategy.
