Removal and Replacement

Powertrain Control Module:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveability and performance.

2. Loosen PCM connector to module bolt and unplug PCM connector.
3. Remove two PCM cover bolts and cover. Remove PCM from bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. To install Powertrain Control Module, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten PCM connector to module bolt to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb in).
3. Tighten PCM cover bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
