N7 Test For Intermittent Rear Axle Speed Sensor Fault
- Disconnect the 2-pin connector from the rear axle speed sensor.NOTE: If at first the measurement is between 1200-1400 ohms, a drive over rough roads while resistance is being monitored for any change is recommended to detect intermittent coil failures due to poor solder joints or coil terminations. Normal brake applications will help heat the rear axle speed sensor coil to help bring out intermittent high resistance coils.
- Measure resistance between the two pins on the component side of the rear axle speed sensor connector.
- Was resistance measured between 1200-1400 ohms?
YES -- Rear axle speed sensor is most likely OK. Go to N8.
NO -- Replace rear axle speed sensor. Reconnect rear axle speed sensor connector. Go to N12.
