LIGHT TRUCK:
1996 ECONOLINE

This TSB applies to the following calibrations only: 6-64k, 6-64L, 6-64R, 6-76R.

ISSUE:
Stalling may occur during an extended idle period on some vehicles. This may be caused by variations in the evaporative emissions purge flow content.

ACTION:
Replace the tee in the evaporative emissions line with a new tee. The new tee is an 0.080 restrictor tee which should reduce the possibility of a stall concern during an extended idle period. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. After performing normal diagnostics, remove the three (3) hoses connected to the tee at the evaporative emissions canister and discard the old tee (Figure 1).

2. Insert the new Tee (391433-S) with the leg of the tee in the line to the fuel tank (Figure 1).

3. Reconnect the other two (2) lines.
