DTC 53: Diagnostic Monitor Internal Fault

Normal Operation
The air bag diagnostic monitor performs several self tests every time the key is turned to RUN. If any of these tests fail, the air bag diagnostic monitor will flash code 53.

Internal self test failure in air bag diagnostic monitor.
