General Description

PURPOSE
The Generic Electronic Module (GEM) controls the operation of the transfer case in response to inputs from the speed sensor, the transmission range sensor or through driver actuation of the push button control switches.

The GEM provides transfer case status (2WD, 4x4 or 4x4 low) and door status (open/closed) to the air ride control module.

This GEM will sound a warning if the key is left in the ignition, seat belt not buckled, headlamps are left ON or door ajar.

The GEM receives voltage from multi-function switch to perform washer, LO, HI or interval wiper functions.

This module also receives input from liftgate wiper/washer switch to perform washer/wiper functions.
