GEM Module Testing Note (Start Here)

The Generic Electronic Module controls multiple electronic systems. When testing the GEM system for Diagnostic Trouble Codes, it is important to note that it may be necessary to refer to the system(s) described by the DTC(s) within the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart.

EXAMPLE:

While testing for Diagnostic Trouble Codes, a code B1466 is output from the GEM module. The Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart shows a description of "Wiper Speed Not Switching". It will be necessary to refer to Wiper and Washer Systems in order to properly diagnose and repair this concern.
