Keyless Entry

Keyless Entry (Explorer Only)

The system (permanent) entry code is located in four places:
- On the owner's wallet code card (in glove box)
- Electronically accessible by asking for the receiver assembly KEYCODE PID on the NGS Tester
- On the receiver assembly housing

The receiver assembly is programmed at the factory with a five-digit entry code. A replacement receiver assembly includes replacement labels and a new owner's code card.

To turn on the interior lamps and light all illuminated components:
- Press any button on the keyless entry keypad (14A626).

To program a temporary access code:
- Enter the permanent code on the keyless entry keypad.
- Press button 1/2 within 5 seconds of last digit of permanent code. (This alerts system to accept temporary code.)
- Enter alternate 5-digit code. Do not exceed 5 seconds between entering digits or between pressing the 1/2 key and entering the first digit.

To unlock the driver's door, and disarm the anti-theft alarm control, if equipped:
- Enter the permanent factory code.
- Enter the owner's alternate code.

To unlock the passenger door(s) and liftgate:
- Press the 3/4 button within five seconds of unlocking the driver's door.

To lock all doors:
- Press the 7/8 and 9/0 buttons at the same time. (It is not necessary to enter the key code first.)

This will turn off courtesy lamps and prearm the anti-theft alarm system.
