Upper Intake Manifold

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect rubber radiator overflow hose from radiator and position aside.
4. Loosen air cleaner outlet tube clamps and remove outlet tube.
5. Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose from throttle body.
6. Remove throttle body snow shield.
7. Remove TP sensor cover and disconnect throttle position sensor and idle air control electrical connectors.
8. Disconnect accelerator cable from throttle lever on throttle body.
9. Remove accelerator cable bracket bolts and position accelerator cable aside.
10. Disconnect EGR spacer coolant hoses, if equipped.
11. Disconnect EGR valve vacuum and electrical connectors.
12. Remove spark plug wires from ignition coils.
13. Disconnect ignition coil electrical connectors.
14. Disconnect EGR vacuum regulator solenoid vacuum and electrical connectors.
15. Remove ignition coil and bracket assembly.
16. Remove intake cover plate.
17. Disconnect upper intake manifold vacuum lines.
18. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from intake manifold bracket.

19. Loosen, then remove upper intake manifold bolts in sequence shown in Fig. 2.
20. Remove upper intake manifold and gasket.
21. Reverse procedure to install. Tighten upper intake manifold bolts to specification in reverse order of loosening sequence.
