Removal and Replacement
Powertrain Control Module:
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveability and performance.
2. Loosen PCM connector to module bolt and unplug connector.
3. Remove two PCM cover nuts and cover.
4. Remove powertrain PCM.
INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten PCM connector to module bolt to 5-7 Nm (45-61 lb in).
3. Tighten PCM cover nuts to 4-5.6 Nm (36-49 lb in).
