Removal and Installation
REMOVAL
1. Partially drain coolant system so that coolant level is below the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) spacer..
2. Disconnect Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector.
3. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Remove crankcase ventilation hose from throttle body.
5. Remove two snow shield bolts and throttle body snow shield.
6. Disconnect Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve electrical connectors.
CAUTION: When disconnecting throttle cable from ball stud, use a screwdriver or similar tool close to the stud and pry slowly. Pulling by hand may damage the cable.
7. Disconnect throttle cable at throttle ball.
8. Remove two snow shield bracket nuts and snow shield bracket.
9. Remove two throttle body nuts and two throttle body stud bolts.
10. Carefully separate throttle body from EGR spacer.
11. Remove and discard EGR housing to throttle body gasket.
12. Use a suitable scraper to clean the gasket surfaces of the throttle body and EGR spacer.
INSTALLATION
1. Install EGR housing to throttle body gasket on the two EGR spacer studs.
2. Position throttle body to EGR spacer and install two throttle body to EGR spacer and install two throttle body nuts and two throttle body stud bolts. Tighten the throttle body nuts and the throttle body stud bolts to 20-30 N.m (15-22 lb ft).
3. Position the snow shield bracket and install two snow shield bracket nuts. Tighten the snow shield bracket nuts to 20-30 N.m (15-22 lb ft).
4. Connect the throttle cable.
5. Connect the TPS sensor and IAC valve electrical connectors.
6. Position throttle body snow shield and install two snow shield bolts. Tighten the snow shield bolts to 8-12 N.m (71-106 lb in).
7. Connect the crankcase ventilation hose to throttle body.
8. Install the air cleaner outlet tube. Tighten air cleaner outlet tube clamps to 2-3 N.m (18-26 lb in).
9. Connect IAT sensor electrical connector.
10. Refill cooling system.
