Window Switch

Switch, Explorer Two-Door, RH and Rear Four-Door

1. Use a self-powered test light or Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 or equivalent to test the window regulator control switch.

NOTE: The window regulator control switch should be oriented so that you are looking at five terminals. (On Explorer, the raised portion of the switch knob is to the right.)

2. With the window regulator control switch in the NEUTRAL position there should be continuity between terminals 1 and 2 and terminals 5 and 6. Terminal 4 should be disconnected from all other terminals.

3. When the raised portion of the switch rocker knob is pushed (to raise the front door window glass (21410)), there should be continuity between terminals 2 and 4 and terminals 6 and 5. Terminal 1 should be disconnected from all other terminals.

4. When the depressed portion of the switch rocker knob is pushed (to lower the window), there should be continuity between terminals 5 and 4 and terminals 1 and 2. Terminal 6 should be disconnected from all other terminals.

5. If the switch assembly does not test as stated, replace the switch.
