Installation

1. Install engine lifting bracketry from Rotunda Engine Lift Bracket Set 014-00340 or equivalent.
2. Remove engine from engine stand using spreader bar from Rotunda Engine Lift Bracket Set and Rotunda Heavy Duty Floor Crane 014-00071 or equivalent.
3. Lower engine onto a level, stationary surface and install clutch disc and clutch pressure plate. Refer to Transmission and Drivetrain.
4. Position engine into vehicle.
5. Raise and support vehicle.
6. Install front engine support insulator retaining nuts.
7. Remove engine lifting eye from Rotunda Engine Lift Bracket Set from RH cylinder head.
8. Connect heater water hoses to the inlet and outlet tubes at rear of RH cylinder head.
9. install transmission.
10. Install starter motor.
11. Install lower radiator hose to radiator and water thermostat housing. Refer to Cooling System.
12. Connect power steering pressure hose.
13. Install dual converter Y pipe.
14. Connect A/C suction and discharge lines to A/C compressor. Refer to Heating and Air Conditioning.
15. Lower vehicle.
16. Remove engine lifting bracket from Rotunda Engine Lift Bracket Set from LH cylinder head.
17. install power steering pump reservoir. Tighten retaining bolt and stud to 8-12 Nm (71-106 inch lbs.).
18. Connect power steering return line hose to power steering pump reservoir.
19. Connect power steering return hose to power steering pump.
20. Connect 2-pin and 7-pin wire connectors at the power distribution box and harness.
21. Connect generator B+ wiring connector to the power distribution box and harness.
22. Connect chassis vacuum supply hose at connection near fuel pressure regulator.
23. Connect evaporative emission canister purge vacuum line at connector located on the RH front fender apron.
24. Install accelerator cable and speed control actuator cable. Verify proper operation.
25. Connect 42-pin connector.
26. Install 42-pin connector to retaining bracket on RH side of dash panel.
27. Connect fuel tubes to fuel injection supply manifold. Refer to Powertrain Management.
28. Connect secondary air injection pump outlet hose to secondary air injection switching valve. Refer to Powertrain Management.
29. Connect wiring connector to secondary air injection switching valve vacuum regulator control. Refer to Powertrain Management.
30. Connect upper radiator hose to water bypass tube. Refer to Cooling System.
31. Install cooling fan, fan blade and fan shroud assembly. Refer to Cooling System.
32. Install radiator coolant recovery reservoir. Refer to Cooling System.
33. Install air cleaner outlet tube. Refer to Powertrain Management.
34. Install engine compartment brace. Tighten retaining bolts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 ft. lbs.).
35. Install hood. Refer to Body and Frame.
36. Fill crankcase to proper level with clean engine oil meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-F.
37. Fill power steering pump system.
38. Reconnect battery ground cable.
39. Fill and bleed engine cooling system. Refer to Cooling System.
40. Start engine and check for leaks.
41. Recheck all fluid levels. Fill as required.
42. Evacuate and recharge air conditioning system. Refer to Heating and Air Conditioning.
