Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then remove steering column gear input shaft coupling to steering column bolt.
2. Remove upper and lower steering column shrouds.
3. Remove hood release mechanism directly under steering column tube assembly, then disconnect all electrical connectors from steering column.
4. Remove steering wheel.
5. Loosen steering column tube boot to instrument panel nuts.
6. Remove four steering column tube assembly to cross bar beam nuts, then lower steering column tube assembly enough to clear mounting bolts.
7. Remove ignition/shifter interlock cable.
8. Pull steering column out.
