Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair






REMOVAL
1. Drain the radiator to a level below the water outlet connection and then close the radiator drain cock.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
4. Use a deep well socket to remove the ECT sensor from the water outlet connection. Discard the washer.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure using a new washer.
2. Tighten the ECT sensor to 16-24 Nm (12-18 ft lb).
3. Fill the cooling system.
