Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor from engine control sensor wiring.
2. Remove two TP sensor retaining screws and sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install TP sensor. Ensure the rotary tangs on sensor are in proper alignment and that the red seal is inside the connector housing.

CAUTION: Slide rotary tangs into position over throttle shaft blade, then rotate TP sensor clockwise to installed position only. Failure to install the TP sensor in this manner may result in excessive idle speeds.

NOTE: This throttle position sensor is not adjustable.

2. Secure TP sensor to throttle body assembly with two retaining screws. Tighten to 3.0-4.0 Nm (27-35 lb in).
3. Connect fuel charging wiring connector to throttle position sensor.
