F: AUTOLOCK INOPERATIVEF1 ATTEMPT NORMAL AUTOLOCK/RELOCK OPERATION
NOTE: Read Autolock Description and Operation to understand the conditions required for autolock to function.
- Perform autolock and relock sequences described in Description and Operation, Autolock .
Do autolock and relock features work?
Yes
Autolock/relock functions appear OK. CLARIFY with owner and REVIEW owner symptoms
No
GO to F2
F2 CONFIRM AUTOLOCK IS ENABLED
- Perform Enable/Disable sequence for autolock/relock feature as described in Description and Operation.
First time this sequence is performed does horn chirp once followed by longer honk?
Yes
GO to F1 (you just enabled a feature which was previously disabled by the vehicle user).
No
If one horn chirp sounded, but no longer horn honk followed, ENABLE autolock feature again with same sequence but with longer honk this time (Autolock feature was enabled originally, and was disabled in F2 ). GO to F3 after enabling Autolock. If can't make enable sequence respond, CONFIRM all doors, liftgate and liftgate window were closed and that theft system was disarmed for enable mode entry, or VERIFY horn output and door ajar, door lock/unlock switch, and ignition inputs to receiver assembly with NGS tester.
F3 CHECK BRAKE ON/OFF INPUT
- Enter in NGS: RAP, PID/DATA and select BOO RAP to monitor Brake On/Off Switch.
- NGS BOO RAP state is OFF.
- Press brake pedal.
- NGS BOO RAP state is ON.
Do both states appear on NGS?
Yes
GO to F4
No
If always ON, CHECK and if necessary, REPLACE hi-mount brake bulb, or SERVICE Circuit 511 (R/LG) for an open or shorted circuit. If always OFF, SERVICE Brake On/Off switch, or SERVICE Circuit 511 (R/LG).
F4 CHECK DOOR AJAR INPUT
- Enter in NGS: RAP, PID/DATA and select DOORRAP to monitor GEM Door Ajar to see Door Ajar State.
- Close all doors, liftgate and liftgate glass.
- NGS DOORRAP state is CLOSED.
- Open any door.
- NGS DOORRAP state is AJAR.
Do both states appear on NGS?
Yes
GO to F5
No
If always AJAR, SERVICE door/liftgate/liftgate window ajar input circuits/switches with GEM module diagnostics General Moduleor SERVICE Circuit 999 (R/BK) for a short to ground with ignition in RUN. If always CLOSED, SERVICE Circuit 999 (R/BK) for an open or SERVICE door/liftgate/liftgate window ajar input circuits/switches with GEM module diagnostics.
F5 CHECK IGNITION INPUT
- Enter in NGS: RAP, PID/DATA and select IGN RAP to monitor ignition state.
- Turn key to OFF position. NGS communication may be lost after a few seconds.
- NGS IGN RAP is OFF.
- Return ignition key to RUN position and resume NGS PID/DATA communication if necessary.
- NGS IGN RAP state is RUN/AC.
Do both states appear on NGS?
Yes
CALL phone number on receiver assembly for additional assistance.
No
If always RUN/AC state, SERVICE ignition switch or SERVICE Circuit 1002 (B/PK) for a 100 ohm or less battery short. If always OFF state, SERVICE Circuit 1002 (B/PK) for an open, blown fuse, or short to ground or SERVICE ignition switch.
