Diagnosis Using NGS

Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel.
- Use the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent, connected to the data link connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and to execute self test diagnostics for the integrated air bag module.
- If self test is passed and no diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are retrieved, GO to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.
- If diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) are retrieved, GO to the DTC Reference Chart to continue diagnostics.
- If the integrated air bag module cannot be accessed by the NGS, GO to Pinpoint Test B. B: Module Communication Error
