Fuel: Service and Repair

NOTE: The flexible fuel vehicle fuel tank cannot be drained through the fuel tank filler pipe. A special screen is installed in the fuel tank filler pipe to prevent siphoning of fuel through the fuel tank filler pipe. The fuel tank on this vehicle is equipped with a drain tube connected to the fuel pump module on the RH side of the vehicle, which has a quick disconnect for this purpose. It is not necessary to lower the fuel tank to drain the system.

Draining

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Depressurize fuel system.
3. Disconnect fuel tube protection shield from the return line in quick fuel tube connector.
4. Connect return tube quick disconnect fitting to Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker and Adapter Hose 164-R3201. Drain fuel from fuel tank.

Refilling

CAUTION: Make sure that all tubes and vents are properly connected and sealed prior to refilling the fuel tank.

1. Insert Rotunda Fuel Tanker Adapter Hose 164-R3206 or equivalent into fuel tank through fuel tank filler pipe.
2. Transfer fuel from Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or equivalent to fuel tank.
3. Connect battery ground cable.
