Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove instrument panel from vehicle. Service and Repair
3. Discharge A/C refrigerant system.
4. Remove A/C evaporator housing assembly as follows:
a. Remove high and low pressure hoses and plug ends.
b. Remove suction accumulator and bracket.
c. Remove throttle cable bracket and position aside.
5. Remove A/C recirculating duct.
6. Remove electro-vacuum solenoid as follows:
a. Lower glove compartment door to gain access to electro-vacuum solenoid.
b. Disconnect wiring connectors.
c. Remove solenoid mounting screw and then mark vacuum hoses before removal.
d. Remove solenoid from vehicle.
7. Remove vacuum hose harness from evaporator housing.
8. Remove heater air damper door vacuum control motor.
9. Remove heater blower motor resistor from evaporator housing.
10. Remove blower motor.
11. Remove heater floor outlet duct.
12. Remove A/C evaporator drain tube seal from housing.
13. Reverse procedure to install.
