EGR Valve: Service and Repair


Removal and Installation
1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.

2. Disconnect EGR valve emission vacuum control hose from EGR valve.

3. Disconnect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube from EGR valve.

4. Remove EGR valve retainer bolts and EGR valve.

5. Remove EGR valve gasket and clean residue from sealing surface.

6. To install, reverse removal procedure.

^ Tighten EGR valve retaining bolts to 20-30 Nm (15-22 lb.ft).

^ Tighten EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube nut to 35-45 Nm (26-33 lb.ft).
