Electronic Door Lock Control System






The electronic door lock control system has five main components:
- the electronic door lock control processor, located behind the instrument panel
- the keyless entry keypad (if equipped) on the driver's door
- the alarm and lock system antenna located in the center of the instrument panel
- the keyless entry remote transmitter
- the Generic Electronic Module (GEM)

The electronic door lock control processor performs the following functions:
- unlocking both front doors
- unlocking body side door
- unlocking liftgate
- locking all doors and liftgate
- arming and disarming of the anti-theft alarm control (if equipped)
- sending a wake-up command for illuminated entry
- activating and deactivating personal security feature which sounds horn and flashes parking lamp
- turning on keyless entry keypad and keyhole illumination (if equipped) after any button on the keyless entry keypad is pressed
- sending a signal to the generic electronic module informing the GEM that a button on the keyless entry keypad (if equipped) has been pressed or the UNLOCK or PANIC button has been pressed on the keyless entry remote transmitter; The GEM module, in turn, will illuminate the vehicle's interior lamps.
- autolock/relock all doors, after all doors are fully closed, ignition switch is turned to RUN position, gearshift lever passes through reverse, and brake pedal is released.
