^ INTERIOR TRIM - POWER DOOR LOCKS MAY CYCLE WITH CARGO IN REAR - REVISED DOOR LOCK SWITCH BEZEL

^ DOOR LOCKS - DOOR LOCKS MAY CYCLE WITH CARGO IN REAR OF VEHICLE

LIGHT TRUCK:
1995-96 WINDSTAR

ISSUE:
Cargo in the rear storage area, behind the third row seat, may shift and come in contact with the rear power door lock switch resulting in cycling of the door locks. This may be caused by the switch protruding beyond the bezel resulting in unintended contact.

ACTION:
Replace the door lock switch. The revised switch has a raised bezel to reduce the possibility of unintended contact from cargo in the rear of the vehicle. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, carefully unclip the top portion of the rear lock switch located in the left rear trim panel.

2. Unclip the bottom of the switch by simultaneously depressing the top clip downward and the bottom clip upward. Be careful not to damage the trim panel.

3. Carefully rotate the switch and electrical connector out of the trim panel.

4. Remove the electrical connector from the switch and remove the switch.

5. Install the new switch and reconnect the electrical connector.

6. Rotate the switch and connector and install it back into the trim panel making sure it snaps into place securely.
