Removal and Installation
REMOVAL1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove fuel tank filler cap and release fuel tank pressure.
3. Perform fuel pressure release.
4. Remove fuel injection supply manifold.
Fuel Injector:
5. Carefully remove fuel charging wiring connectors from fuel injectors as required.
6. Grasping fuel injector body, pull up while gently rocking fuel injector from side-to-side.
7. Inspect fuel injector O-rings (two per fuel injector) for signs of deterioration. Replace as required.
8. Inspect fuel injector end cap, body and washer for signs of dirt and deterioration.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION: Never use silicone grease. It will clog the fuel injectors.
1. Lubricate new O-rings with clean engine oil XO-10W30-QSP or -DSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification ESE-M2C153-E.
2. Install fuel injectors using a light, twisting-pushing motion.
3. Install fuel injection supply manifold.
4. Install fuel charging wiring connectors to fuel injectors.
5. Perform Fuel System, Post-Service Procedures. Post-Service Procedures
