Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview: Overview

NOTE: Use Rotunda Digital Volt-Ohmmeter 014-00407 and Rotunda 60-Pin Breakout Box 007-00033 or equivalent for diagnosis or Pinpoint Tests.

USING NGS

- Diagnostics for this system require use of the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent. The module controlling the system being diagnosed communicates with the data link connector (DLC) located beneath the instrument panel.

- Use the Rotunda NGS Tester 007-00500 or equivalent, connected to the DLC to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and to execute self test diagnostics for the integrated air bag module.
- If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, GO to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics.
- If DTCs are retrieved, GO to the DTC Reference Chart to continue diagnostics.
- If the integrated air bag module cannot be accessed by the NGS, GO to Pinpoint Test B.
