Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer's concern by operating the vehicle to duplicate the condition.
2. Visually inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:
^ Mechanical
- Shock absorber failure
- Leak from air line(s)
- Leak from rear air spring(s)
- Ruptured rear air spring(s)
- Air suspension height sensor damaged
- Air suspension height sensor off ball studs
^ Electrical
- Open fuses:
- Fuse junction panel Fuse 12, 31 and 21
- Power distribution box Fuse E
- Loose connectors
- Corroded connectors
3. If inspection reveals an obvious concern that is readily serviced, correct the concern before continuing with Inspection and Verification.
4. If a concern remains after the inspection, use the Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Tester 007-00500 or equivalent, connected to the data link connector (DLC) to retrieve continuous diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) and to execute self test diagnostics for the generic electronic module. If after performing data link diagnostic test, the NGS responds with module NO RESPONSE/NOT EQUIPPED, go to Pinpoint Test A.
5. If self test is passed and no DTCs are retrieved, go to the Symptom Chart to continue diagnostics. Symptom Related Diagnostic Procedures
6. If DTCs are retrieved go to the DTC Reference Chart to continue diagnostics.
7. If the generic electronic module cannot be accessed by the NGS, to to Pinpoint Test A.

The Rotunda Service Bay Diagnostic System (SBDS) 001-00001 or equivalent may also be used to diagnose this system.
