WINDSHIELD WIPERS - CHATTER WHEN IN USE - STREAKING - VEHICLES BUILT THROUGH 3/15/96
LIGHT TRUCK:
1995-96 WINDSTAR
ISSUE:
The windshield wiper may chatter across the windshield when in use which may result in streaking and/or noisy operation. This may be caused by the angle at which the wipers contact the windshield.
ACTION:
Clean the windshield and replace the wiper arms. The replacement wiper arms have been revised to provide an improved contact angle. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Inspect and clean the windshield and wiper blades to make sure a contaminated or dirty windshield or wiper blade is not the cause of the wiper chatter.
2. If the wipers still chatter after cleaning, replace the wiper arms following the procedure outlined in the 1996 Windstar Service Manual, Page 01-16-25.
3. Verify proper operation.
