Installation
1. Place transaxle on Rotunda High Lid Transmission Jack 014-00210 or equivalent and position under vehicle.
2. Slowly raise transaxle making sure no obstructions exist and position transaxle in engine compartment behind engine block. Align transaxle with engine block.
3. Install two RH engine bracket-to-transaxle bolts. Tighten bolts to 53-72 Nm (39-53 inch lbs.).
4. Install two lower transaxle-to-engine bolts. Tighten bolts to 53-72 Nm (39-53 inch lbs.).
5. Remove High Lift Transmission Jack 014-00210 or equivalent from under transaxle.
6. Install four flywheel-to-torque converter nuts. Tighten nuts to 27-46 Nm (20-34 ft. lbs.).
7. Install transmission housing cover to transaxle and secure with one bolt. Tighten bolt to 9-12 Nm (80-106 inch lbs.).
8. Install starter motor to transaxle and secure with one stud and one bolt. Tighten starter motor stud and bolt to 21-29 Nm (16-21 ft. lbs.).
9. Connect positive battery cable and ignition switch wiring to starter solenoid.
10. Connect speedometer cable to Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) (if equipped).
11. Install and align front sub-frame.
12. Install four bolts retaining rear engine support to transaxle. Tighten bolts to 53-72 Nm (39-53 ft. lbs.).
13. Install both halfshaft into vehicle.
14. Install front tire and wheel assemblies.
15. Lower vehicle.
16. Remove Rotunda Three Bar Engine Support 014-00750 and Rotunda Engine Support Fixture Adapter Kit 014-00792 or equivalent from vehicle.
17. Remove Engine Lifting Eyes D94P-6001-A or equivalent from the rear of the RH and LH exhaust manifold studs.
18. Connect battery ground cable and positive battery cable bracket to starter motor stud and secure with one nut. Tighten nut to 17-23 Nm (13-16 ft. lbs.).
19. Install engine wiring harness bracket to upper transaxle-to-engine stud and secure with one nut. Tighten nut to 17-23 Nm (13- 16 ft. lbs.).
20. Install two upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. Tighten bolts to 53-72 Nm (39-53 ft. lbs.).
21. Connect fluid cooler lines to transaxle.
22. Connect transaxle shift cable to manual lever ball-stud.
23. Connect transaxle harness electrical connector, Transmission Range (TR) sensor electrical connector and Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor electrical connector.
24. Install Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly.
25. Install cowl vent screens and hood.
26. Install battery and battery tray.
27. Connect battery ground cable and positive battery cable.
28. Refill transaxle as outlined under Transaxle Fluid Drain and Refill.
