Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Service and Repair

Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Sensor:

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveability and performance.

2. Disconnect electrical connector from Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.
3. Remove IAT sensor.
3. Loosen screw clamp securing IAT tube to engine air cleaner outlet tube and remove intake air temperature sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install IAT and torque to 3-5 Nm (27-44 lb in).
2. Position engine air cleaner outlet tube and tighten screw clamp.
3. Reconnect electrical connector to IAT sensor.
4. Connect negative battery cable.
